Product Quality

Whitebay World of lavender is very concerned about parabens in health care products. To this end we are removing parabens from our product range.

So far all of our massage waxes, the face and foot cream and the healing cream, lip and sleep balms all have no parabens. There is no doubt that the preservatives used by most skincare companies (methyl parabens, ethyl parabens and propyl parabens and their derivatives) are very effective. They stop all enzyme activity happening in the product therefore the product doesn’t spoil. They stop all enzyme activity happening in the product (life processes can only occur   with enzyme activity), therefore it doesn't go mouldy or off.

Unfortunately, this preservative action continues when the product is applied to your skin. It is then absorbed into your skin tissue, taken up by your blood stream and finishes up in your major organs. The preservative action is so stable it continues to work while inside your body, limiting the normal enzyme activity of the body and creating cellular problems.

How do we know this? Autopsies done on cancerous tumours have shown resisues of methyl, ethy, and proply parabens, and the only way these could have been introduced is through the external use of skincare and cosmetics.

Whitebay wishes all customers to treat their Whitebay health care products carefully. Because we don't use parabens the shelf life of our products is 12 months from time of purchase. Store in a cool dark place and if any sign of mould or deterioration is evident do not use it. If within the 12 months guarantee return it for a full refund or replacement.
Whitebay does not agree with killing animals for the product’s sake. We have not ever seen proof of any animal extracts being effective on the skin when applied externally, and ingredients like collagen and elastin are only effective when injected under the skin. The only way these can have an effect is by being injected under the epidermal layer. It then gradually breaks down over six months to a year and is removed by the blood as toxins and waste products.

Petrochemically  derived mineral oils and synthetically made mineral oils asphixate the skin, blocking pores and preventing it from breathing. They are often used because they are cheap and create a nice “silky” feeling on your skin, giving you the initial impression that they doing good.

Irradiation is standard practice in many countries now, they are trying to make sure no foreign bacteria, flora or fauna enters the country. Used in the food industry in order to kill bacteria and extend shelf life, the radiation in fact kills the vitamins, friendly bacteria and enzymes. and leaves a residue of radiation. Whitebay does not condone irradiation.
